A beautiful, independently owned and operated Wedding and conference venue gastro environment located in a stunning village in the heart of the countryside of Surrey. Working closely with local farmers, this business is wholly focused on local, fresh produce and delivering a uniquely personal experience to every one if its customers
Role
- You will be fully responsible for the supervision and development of a small brigade of 3
- Involved in liaising and maintaining good relationships with local farmers and businesses
- You will have full autonomy over the menu and the operation of the banquet kitchen
- Liaise with events team in regards to special request
- Working closely with the owner/managers
- Wastage control
- Handling all of the cooking requirements for an average of 100 customer per event
- Responsible for overseeing the operations of up to 100 private functions per year
- Recruitment responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking and serving all menu items from scratch
Candidate Profile
- Will have at least 5 year’s experience as a Head Chef with extensive, high volume event catering
- Highly creative and imaginative with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Will demonstrate the ability, gravitas and worldly experience to operate in a diverse and pressured environment
- The ability to remain calm and professional when the going gets tough is an absolute must!
- Will be an instinctively strong leader with the ability to motivate and develop your staff
- Will be highly organised
- Will demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work
- Will be proficient in implementing Health and Safety procedures
- Good IT and administration skills are essential
- Must have own transport
- Ideally will live locally
Salary & Benefits
£22,000 - £23,000 P/A Depending on Experience
Bonuses of up to £150 per event when catering for over 100 events per year
An average of 40 hours per week, however more will be required in the busy periods
