Company Profile

A well established and award winning leisure and event venue are now looking for a proficient, talented, passionate and professional Head Chef to join their team and head up the kitchen operations. Predominately a very popular wedding venue this company believes in the production of high quality dishes with a focus on fresh, sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. Role

  • You will be fully responsible for the supervision and development of a brigade of 4 chefs
  • To oversee the food production from menu creation to table in liaison with Clubhouse Manager
  • To ensure food standards are of the highest order of creation and presentation as governed by using freshest ingredients and menu specification
  • To be responsible for the efficient and timely ordering of all kitchen inventory items, and the correct receiving of such food /items
  • To process invoices in accordance with Company procedures
  • To be responsible for the correct storage, handling and general hygiene of all food and related items
  • To discuss, suggest and review with the Clubhouse Manager and General Manager all aspects of the dining experience at the club with a view towards constant improvement (this includes developing our special events programmes at the club)
  • To work in a positive, cooperative and pleasant manner with members, colleagues and management
  • To be at all times immaculately groomed and presented in the appropriate company uniform and also ensuring all kitchen staff are adhering to these standards at all times
  • To communicate effectively and respectfully with staff and managers
  • To ensure a high level of security in all areas of kitchen equipment, doors and stock
  • To identify and report service/maintenance and repairs as appropriate

Candidate Profile

  • Will have at least 3 year’s experience as a Head Chef/Senior Sous Chef producing high quality modern British cuisine
  • Must have experience of at least a year cooking within a 5 Star Hotel or minimum 2AA rosette standard
  • Highly creative and imaginative with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • Attend regular staff meetings with the core management team
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when the going gets tough is an absolute must!
  • Will be an instinctively strong leader with the ability to motivate, train and develop your staff
  • Will be highly organised
  • Will demonstrate a good sense of ownership
  • Will demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work with a savvy and energetic personality
  • Will be proficient in implementing Health and Safety procedures
  • Good IT and administration skills are desired with excellent financial/G.P abilities
  • The ideal candidate will have previous banqueting experience for up to 150 guests
