• Managing a team of 3 full time Chefs and a stand-by part time team
• Responsible for all general operations of the kitchen area
• Expected to maintain a good relationship with existing suppliers but with the autonomy to source others to match equally exacting standards
• Responsible for recruitment, training and motivation of your team
• Managing the kitchen’s administrative duties in compliance with Health and Safety Law
• Consistent motivation of and performance monitoring of all direct reports
• Fully responsible for all financial aspects of the position including staff wage managment, dish costing, stock control and wastage management
• Responsible for maintaining an excellent level of communication between front and back of house staff
• Responsible for consistent creative input in regards to menu development
• Excellent knowledge of Devonshire produce

Role

• Will have at least 4 year’s experience as a Head Chef with extensive, high volume event catering
• Highly creative and imaginative with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
• Will demonstrate the ability, gravitas and worldly experience to operate in a diverse and pressured environment
• The ability to remain calm and professional when the going gets tough is an absolute must!
• Will be an instinctively strong leader with the ability to motivate and develop your staff
• Will be highly organised
• Will demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work
• Will be proficient in implementing Health and Safety procedures
• Good IT and administration skills are essential
