This established, Independent Nursery located in the heart of the West End / South West London is now offering a fantastic opportunity for a highly self motivated and experienced Chef Cook to join their friendly & professional team.

Offering a warm and welcoming environment for 65 children from 12 months to 4 years from Monday to Friday (closed Public / Bank Holidays), this Nursery offers inspired British cuisine with a ‘home cooked’ style – daily changing menus for Breakfast, Lunch, Supper and Mid Morning / Afternoon Tea snacks.

Temporary to permanent contract available from the February 2012

Role

Working alone within a high spec, well maintained kitchen, you will be instrumental in delivering delicious dishes which are both seasonal and offer balanced nutrition.

Responsibilities include:

Smooth Daily Running of Kitchen

Collaboration on Menu Design & Development – Adhering to Set Budget

Stock Control: Ordering, Supplier Liaison, Deliveries, Daily Line Checks, Wastage Control

Due Diligence: Food Hygiene, H&S Records & Procedures

Reporting to Nursery Manager

Candidate Profile

Proven Chef / Cook experience gained within a comparable Business: Hospital, Residential / Care Home, School, etc

Strong Skill Set with Proven Track Record in all Areas of Kitchen Management

Essential – Ability to deliver on Budget without compromising on Food Quality

Genuine Passion to Cook with Knowledge of Food Intolerances, Specific Diet Regimes & Allergies essential

Strong on Due Diligence – up to date on current Hygiene Legislation

February 2012 Start (Temp to Perm Contract)

Salary & Benefits

£7.30 to £8.00 P/ Hr during Probationary Period – £9.00 P / Hr (Basic Start Wage) 

3 Months Probationary Period: Regular Performance Related Salary Reviews

Benefits: Well Structured & Professional Working Environment + Friendly Team

Working Hours: Contracted to work Monday to Friday from 7.00am until 4.00pm (45 hrs p / wk incl. breaks)

Standard Paid Annual Leave & Public / Bank Holidays Off
