This Established, Award Winning Bistro & Grill located in the City is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Chef to lead their professional Kitchen Team.

Synonymous with great British food, fine ales and wines, this popular Eatery offers exciting, seasonal Menus sourcing only the finest Free Range, Organic British Rare Breed Meat, Game & Poultry from quality, local producers and suppliers.

Open for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, this warm & welcoming Dining Room features an Open Rotisserie & Grill and own Bakery, attracting a loyal and discerning City Clientele all year round.

Head Chef Role
Working closely with the Manager & Executive Chef, you will play an integral part in the continued Culinary Success of this Established Bistro & Grill currently catering for 60 - 70 Lunch & 80 plus Dinner covers.

Responsibilities include:

Menu Planning & Costing

Overseeing Daily Kitchen Operations, Leading & Directing a Brigade of 6 Chefs

Ensuring Consistently High Levels of Food Quality, Team Performance & Standards of Service

Stock Control, Purchasing, Stock Counting, Figure Reporting (GP), Wastage Control

Rotas, Recruitment, Training & Development, Performance Reviews

Hygiene, Health & Safety Records, Cleaning Rosters

General Bookkeeping, Administration & Accounting

Management Meetings

Contracted to work 50 Hrs P/Wk Monday to Friday, Benefits include a Well Structured, Professional Working Environment, Possible Bonus Incentives, Regular Performance Related Salary Reviews and External Courses with the Opportunity of Movement within this Award Winning, Independent Group.

Ideal Candidate

With proven Head Chef experience gained within Award Winning/Quality Restaurant Brasseries and/or Gastro Pubs, you will have excellent all round skills with a creative approach to menu planning and a real passion to cook great food.

Able to lead a team effectively, you will have a ‘hands on’ management style and enjoy taking ownership of your kitchen.

You will have excellent knowledge of traditional/modern British cuisine with emphasis on developing exciting Meat, Game and Fish dishes.

Strong on Due Diligence & Up to Date on Current Hygiene Legislation

Salary & Benefits

£25,000 - £26,000 Basic Start Salary pa + Possible Bonus Incentives

50 Hours Per Week - Monday to Friday

3 Months Probationary Period: Regular Performance Related Salary Reviews
