This popular, neighbourhood Food Store, Deli & Cafe located in North London is currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join their professional team.

Open early until late, this contemporary British Grocery Store with in-store Kitchen offers both fresh produce to cook at home, as well as an extensive range of own prepared dishes to takeout or eat in. Customers are encouraged to watch the chefs at work preparing a variety of dishes.

Using only the finest organic and free range ingredients, produce is sourced directly from quality British suppliers with the store stocking meat and poultry, delicious cheeses, artisan breads, jams, chutneys, pickles, wine, oils, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Role

Working in a high spec Production Kitchen, you will play an integral part in continuing the success of this gourmet Deli Cafe operation.

Preparing a wide variety of dishes from scratch including sweet and savoury tarts, quiches, pies, cakes, biscuits, jellies and handmade chocolates, you will also assist with menu development and oversee one other Pastry Chef.

Additional Responsibilities will Include:

Daily Menu Planning

Stock Control: Orders, Supplier Liaison, Deliveries, Stock Counting & Wastage Control

Junior Chef Training & Development

Daily Hygiene, Health & Safety Records & Procedures, Cleaning Duties

7 Days Operation: contracted to work 5 straight shifts (7am - 4pm incl. breaks - 40 hrs pw), additional benefits include regular performance related salary reviews, external courses, paid annual leave, chef uniform and meals on duty.

What Can You Offer....

With proven Senior Pastry Chef experience gained within similar, quality Restaurant and/or Catering establishments, you will have a real passion to cook and have a genuine desire to produce honest British food to a very high standard of quality.

You will have strong levels of energy and technical skill, a positive and dedicated working attitude and enjoy working in a small team.

With excellent attention to detail, you will have the ability to work well under pressure and on your own initiative, whilst directing and training a Junior Pastry Chef.

You will also be up to date with current Hygiene Legislation.
